Significance of Mothers

Mothers are important to our lives because they are there to comfort us, guide us and nurture us until adulthood. Motherhood is considered the most important contribution of women. She is the superwoman in a family because she works all day to keep the house neat and tidy, cooks for the family and assists their children in making their assignments and homework.

The challenges, problems and anxieties experienced by mothers are totally different from fathers. Nothing can compare the sacrifice and trials they experienced from the moment they bear their child in their womb until the deliver it in the hospital. They are the ones who nurture us, watch us until we grow up and instill in us the correct values and characters to mold us to become the best person we can be.

Being a housewife, a mother and a career woman is a difficult task to juggle everyday. You must have all the energy, ability, skill and determination to withstand and solve all the trials and challenges that come along.

They have the ability to balance both office work and household tasks. Their tasks not only include managing bills, cleaning the house, cooking food and working at the office, but they have to mold their children, to train them and to educate them to become a better person she and her husband can be proud of.

Becoming a good mother does not only includes giving your child all the material things that money can buy or enrolling them in the most expensive school there is, but what matters most is how you train your children, how you teach them good manners and traits, how you protect them from harm and how you instill in them love of God and family.

Tips in becoming a good mother:

Find time to bond with your child. Make it a point to talk to them often, share with them whatever issues that you think would be important to them and to read them stories during bed time.

Be a good and active listener. Be a good friend to them. Learn to listen to all the woes, stories and achievements of your child.

Support whatever activities and projects that your child has at school. Find time to attend to these events.

Teach them respect. Learn to say thank you when you have some errands and learn to say sorry when you did something wrong. Do not hesitate to admit your mistakes and flaws. Show them how you love and respect your husband.

Avoid having arguments and fight in their presence.

Teach them important values, such as honesty, trustworthiness, respectfulness and diligence.

If you reprimand them when they commit a mistake, explain to them what makes such act wrong.

Teach them and instill in them the value of optimism. Be a good example. Let them see how you manage to overcome every obstacle that comes along the family.

Never forget to commend and recognize the efforts done by your children because it makes them feel valued, respected and important.
